Brakes making a grinding noise
#12
Okay people, I really appreciate the help. I mean that, but here is what I have done the past couple of days. I am getting this chirping noise from my front driver's side wheel when ever I turn to the left. It doesn't do it all the time, it seems to get worse the longer I drive. And I also noticed when I apply the brake or turn back to the right, it stops. I took everything apart, greased the slide pins, greased around the caliper piston and reassembled everything and made sure everything was nice and tight. I also put on new rotors. The clunking/grinding noise has stopped, but I am getting this squeaky, chirping noise as I mentioned. Also, I sprayed the car off yesterday. I have custom wheels on it so I can clearly see the rotors. When I sprayed the driver's side, the water started sizzling as soon as it hit the rotor. The passenger side was hot as well, but nothing like the driver's side. My father-in-law thinks it could be the bearings and not the brake, but from what I have seen and read, bearings make more of a grumbling noise. This is a definite chirp chirp chirp and gets louder when I'm turning. Again, I really appreciate everyone's help.

Why would any body apply ANY grease to the pistons of a NEW caliper?
Yes. hubs, LCAs, brake wear indicators all make noises (many only when turning). Could the "chirp" be better described as a "click", then CV could be the problem. Bearings/hubs make so many different kinds of noises, don't even ....
Not replacing BOTH sets of pads could also be a problem.
