A/c blowing warm even after new thermostat

Not exactly correct; The AC evaporator removes moisture from the air that passes over it, no matter where it comes from. The AC runs when in recirc or defrost, with no indicator, because it is removing moisture to prevent fogging. When on recirc the AC removes moisture caused by the occupants breath. When in recirc the evaporator dries and cools dry and cool air if no one is in the cabin. If you experience fogging with the AC running there is a problem somewhere.
The rear window defroster turns itself off after a set interval, I think 15 minutes.

You understate the wrongness. Theoretically, i.e. assuming perfect sealing, recirc is not dealing with a constant influx of humid air; it’s making the same air drier and drier until the system can’t be made any drier. Now, if the cabin contains 5 panting adults in wet clothes and saturated carpets, I suppose that could contribute more moisture than outside air…

That sure helped the drive from Florida back in 2014, when Oldblue decided to split the flex pipe! I fixed it when I got home! A new catalytic converter was at the door. 5 fasteners and the 2 O2 sensors, fresh new task and done!
