A/C Compressor Won't Kick In
#21
How did you attach the extensions to your snap ring pliers? I may be doing this soon. Had a burning smell yesterday than the AC cut out. Funny thing was just as the burning smell started I passed a car fire; so, I thought it was just from that. Looks like it wasn't. AC was very cold prior o it and have had zero problems up until now just a few days after having a shop do an alignment. It is probably a coincidence it just happened. I do 99% of my own work but it seems that EVERY time I have a shop do something I have a major component fail within a few hundred miles.

A/c crompressor clutch won't engage
I have a snap ring plyers with interchangeable tips. I made the extra long tips from long handle 3/32" Allen wrenches.
I did some troubleshooting to eliminate other potential problems before going forward with the clutch replacement.

LOL - Yeah, the "reader" is the guage on the Freon bottle. Supposedly, when the bottle was attached to the inlet side, the guage went right to the read - way on the right - indicating it was overcharge - or, over compressed, however you want to put it. That's all I know about their parking lot diagnoisis.
