If the price was not to high I would be in for one also.

Thanks guys; just trying to get a feel for what everyone would like.

PLEASE see my other thread in Supporting Vendors regarding new options for the main UPPER grille. We need your feedback...

I vote for an outside bolt on grill if it can look decent. Black or chrome would look nice.

Note the rear grill on my other Chevy. A Very tasteful Mesh and Very CHROME!:one:
I likes ChROME!!!

We could have it made in either Chrome or Black finish...

Thoughts?

If you build it, they will come, at least I'll be in line for a chrome one!!:thumb:

Any pics of it installed on your HHR? From the pics they show on AutoAnything I can't see why there would be any cooling problem, looks good to me....price ain't bad either.

Anyway, GM wants $800 to fix it. I told them to order the parts but I'm not paying. they gave me the good 'ol 800 number to call.

I'm going to call and tell them about the others here who have had the same thing happen, and demand they fix it as a design flaw - all they needed to do was put a screen there to protect the condenser. It's foolish to think all these HHR's are going to have the A/C taken out by a rock.

If they say no...anyone up for a Class Action Suit?

PM me to sign up...!

HI MIKE I WAS AT MY DEALERSHIP YESTERDAY . THEY WERE COMENTING ON MY NEW LOWER GRILL HOW GOOD IT LOOKED. THEY ALSO AGREED THAT THERE SHOULD OF BEEN SOME SORT OF GRILL THERE FROM THE FACTORY. LIVING IN A CITY WHERE THERE IS ON GOING CONSTRUCTION HAPPENING ALL THE TIME I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO SEE SOME MESH BEHIND THE GRILL I BOUGHT. JUST MY THOUGHT. :thumb:

Picture of Carriage Works Bumper Grill

DarkAge53

I just installed it yesterday afternoon in 45 minutes. It is very nice quality and a perfect fit. It is the Carriage Works Bumper Grill chrome finish. I have seen a lot of other members have a similar grill. I just joined as a premium member so I can post pictures now. The members here have already saved me more than the $5.99 to become a premium member. Great site. John11:smile:

Observations;

I just went for a walk in our parking lot to see what other cars have for a grill covering that coil, and I was surprised at what I saw. Many makes do not really have any substantive grill there either - examples I saw are Honda Accord, Mitsubishi SUV, Toyota Avalon, others. They were basically open to rocks except for a thin horizontal strip and several vertical strips, certainly nothing that would block rocks at all. So I am now seeing that the A/C coil on other makes is very wide open also.

Opinions???

P.S. I'm still going to put a grill there, I'm just wondering why the industry has so many makes with the coil so exposed?
