You are a lucky boy! Most GM shops charge 1 hour of "computer labor" plus environmental disposal fees etc. to do the easy job. Most dealer mechanics don't know how to use their computer, especially since they discontinued the Tech2. Most don't know how to interpret OBD2 codes, much less actually set a parameter.

BTW, remote start is supposed to be a combination of "lock","lock"+"panic", I don't know if that will make the Chinese fobs work for that.

All doors must be locked, so lock for assurance then lock and panic at the same time for a couple seconds.

Well voila, no wonder it didn’t work before. I was not doing it right. Your method started it right up. And this is with the dorman fob mind you.

‘I suppose some day I should download a user manual.

I still have my dorman programmer. I have a genuine AC Delco fob in my cart on Amazon. It’s $35. Or I can get 2 for $18 of a 5 star rated other knock off brand, non delco. I am not sure which one I should buy, I think the general consensus by reading this thread is to stick with the original?

I don’t suppose the trunks on these open by fob, do they?

I would stick with the OE. Also, do you really need 2 more fobs anyway?

No, fob does not open the rear hatch.

I’ll just spend the money then and get oem. It would be nice to have 2 good fobs and send the dorman back but I’ll just deal with it. . I broke the news to the wife that the fob won’t open the rear hatch. I’m in the doghouse tonight only
