^ Agreed! Gmpartsdirect has tons of stuff! Personally, I haven't bought anything, as I have a relative who works at the parts department, I can get stuff at cost, so I save on shipping then. But they have almost anything you can think of for my Lumina even on that site. Notice I say almost! Had one part I had to drive down to Ann Arbor to get since they didn't make it any more, but for the most part that sites got lots of goodies! What I'll do also is use it to find part numbers, that might help in your searches.
Off topic a little, but where have you been lately catdaddy?

Staying on the OPs' Topic
Joe- Long time no hear...
Yes agreed. I have bought several things from GMPD, no problems.
Just need the Part #.
Also Rock Auto .com is another great source..
There are many other good sources..
Google what you want, & I'm thinking you will find plenty.

steering boot
only 1 out of 3 stores could get a cv axle. I'm not even sure now that the cv is bad . It is making some terrible noise. I can see that the boot on the steering is busted . I can not find a boot . the steering linkage as well as the cv seems to be tight . I'm kind of baffled as to what is making all this noise. It has noise and vibration at all speeds and gets worse the faster I go.
Any help ??? suggesttions ???

noise issue identified
the terrible noise was/ is the wheel bearing ( I hope )...I still need to find steering boot and transmission seal ....It's leaking only a little bit , but I 've got the cv axle pulled out , which seems to be good . So
I might as well replace the seal while I got it out...I also see I need a brake piston boot....What seems the craziest part to me is that a new cv axle was only $72 but a bearing is about twice that much.....If anyone has 1.

seems very strange
I found a SS bearing/hub for $107 , while non SS is $208 !!!! doesn't that sound backwards ??????
So I check the SS hub at the parts store to see if it matches my old hub...
Nope , the SS shaft is larger , but everything else seems to match........????????
This adds even more to my biggest regret , not buying a SS.

Whether or not the car has ABS can change the price of the hub. I'm not sure about the HHR, but I'm assuming the speed sensors for the ABS sensor are built into the hub rather then a separate unit, which makes it cost more. I had a 96 buick century and the damn hubs were like $250 a piece because of that.
