Angry cant figure where the coolant leak is

Hello All,

I was hoping to get some help here on this forum. I have an 06 HHR with 2.2 engine . Ive been having plenty of problems with it . I was able to fix all but my coolant problem. I already changed the thermostat I even had to change the engine fan. of which all of the blades fell off .I have never seen that before. I also had to change a small hose the goes from the filler to the engine which cost about $30 for a 3 inch hose. I just bought a longer formed hose and was able to cut it up to get 4 pieces from it for only $7.

Anyway my question is i don't know if its leaking from heater hoses or not. the leak seems to be dripping on the passenger side seems like right under the dash. its not rain water as there is no water in the car coming from under the windshield .i also noticed a little drip in the front also passenger side for thatI think its the radiator. but the leak in the back passenger side it is leaking bad. temp was at 235 even on the highway. .The temp was usually around 190. i know not to run it at 235 this will definitely damage the engine.

Do you check the coolant level and add coolant as needed?

If the leak on the back of the engine is NOT the AC drain then it is the water pump. A bad water pump could cause the overheating.

vicmon - are you saying there is a leak inside the car, on the passengers side (under the dash)? If so, that typically points to a leaking heater core.

Welcome to the site, seems a new heater core is in order

I’d consider a new radiator also

I skipped past that, as in post #1 the OP states it’s not rain water.

No rain water getting in from under the windshield. This wouldn't be from under the windshield. Should be able to tell if it's coolant or water just by looking.

Vicmon, do you not know what coolant looks like? Or do you have only water in the cooling system?

"but the leak in the back passenger side it is leaking bad" - is it coming from the front of the passenger side?
