CEL Fuel Pump Relay

I am kinda scared to mess with the battery terminals. Is it just me or are the factory battery terminals complete garbage. I ended up cutting one off and replacing with an after market battery terminal.

The dam codes will clear themselves!!!!!!!!!!~!
If there is no CEL, that means it's a stored code waiting for a re occurrence.
If you don't know how to read a Tech2 don't.
Your Buddy is wrong. The way to clear the memory is to disconnect the negative side of the battery.

Thanks for everyones input. Sorry I upset ya'll. Ya I am still in the learning stage with what all you can do with a tech2. It is not real black and white on how to use it, for example in the menu that asks for "Product Line" the correct answer should be "N" since that is the third digit in my vin number, but if you go that route, then later you hit power train and select your engine size, guess what, 2.2L or 2.4L are not one of the options. I have always had to hit "A" as my product line. I still have no idea why that is. I do have the latest update.

Tech2 is a verrrrry sophisticated machine, not many GM techs even know how to use them. Be careful you can damage your car!
There are three code options, Permanent, pending, current. Sometimes called by different names, don't know what the Tech2 calls them. Some require multiple instances in one cycle, some need multiple instances in consecutive cycles, some only one to cause a CEL.

A buddy of mine told me that there was a way to clear codes without a tech 2.
• Turn the key on, then off. Open the driver door, shut it. Wait for all the lights to go off.

• Turn the key on, then crank it up and engine light should be gone
That sounds like the procedure to program a new fob on my 2000 Mazda. Except that you also have to stand on your left leg only while waving the fob in your right hand in a clockwise direction 3 revolutions then counterclockwise 5 revolutions.
Maybe the reason your Tech2 has to be lied to is that it needs to be updated. The firmware needs to be regularly updated with new models. That's what GM charges so much for a subscription for. I wonder what product line A is, (Cavalier?).

Donbrew he probably also has a cloned Tech 2 from China. They are also calibrated different and in some instances wrong.....according to many people who purchased.
Oh and probably no updates available. So who knows what generation of software was installed???????
