Check Engine Light On

2007 hhr engine light on and remote start disabled. friend at dealership scanned it and pointed to the rear. check gas cap comes on occasionally. i'm thinking it is the vapor/vent pressure sensor. any ideas. haven't been under yet but wondering where sensor is located. any help would greatly appreciated. Posts moved to new thread. You need to get your codes read before any help could be given.

It could be as simple as the gas cap was left loose after the last time you added fuel or a bad gas cap. Call your local parts store and see if they have a code reader that they will let you use for free. Once you have the Trouble Code, then members can help you out.

Check your gas cap carefully, its of the proper age to suffer from a hardened or cracked o-ring, went through this on two of mine and after checking the codes and the cap it was a simple fix.

Stant part # 10841 is the replacement cap available at almost every parts store for about $10.

It's been told several times already......... WHAT IS THE CODE? Without it you are shooting in the dark man.

Thanks db/sb. Calm down whopper, I don't have the codes yet. I'm following advice from a different forum. Besides, it's my gun. I'll shoot it in the dark if I want. Have a great day dh!
