i checked all the regular stuff the manual said to check and nothing seemed to shut it up. the dealers service dept opens before autozone does, so I am going to drive across the street and have them scan it real quick and tell me what's going on. If it's something I can fix, I would rather do it only to get the know the car better, but it could be out of my hands.

Trey... Don't think you can use the 'jump-pin' approach on these vehicles, as (I believe) that could only be done on OBD-I vehicles (trust me- been there a LOT with my '95 Probe GT).

Sounds to me like you might have a possible (air) leak. Double check everything's seated properly and fully. Otherwise you may have (mysteriously) fouled a plug or something (injector?). Just mentioning these from others that have had CEL's thrown recently.

Worst case scenario- put the OEM unit back on and see if it disappears! My feelings are it wont, as only the MAF sensor was the only thing that you really 'touched'. Speaking of which... make sure that harness is plugged in 100%.

Good Luck and keep us posted...

It was probably just from triggering the fuel shutoff/rev limiter.

I would just slap a new set of plugs in there and get a reset.

Ask your dealer to put the Bosch plugs in!

I called the dealer to see if could get some more information, and they said that took it over the tune up/drivability guys and they did some electrical diagnostics, and couldnt find anything wrong, so now its headed over to the line to have the mechanics check it out. I asked them to throw some new Bosch plugs in for the hell of it and they said no problem, but that "shouldn't" be the problem. So in my eyes, they still don't know whats wrong...

Most dealers don't know what's wrong when you take an HHR in!

Oh well, just going to have to wait it out till Monday I am told.
The rental is a freaking huge Silverado 4 door which is eating gas...not to mention it doesn't fit in my parking spot at my condo, so I have to park down the street...
Needless to say the girlfriend says it's my fault for, "pushing that cute little car to hard." One of these days sweetie, one of these days...

I've been reading your thread and I'm not clear on a few thing, did you miss a shift and was it running fine when you took it to the dealer..BTW, I can't see putting in new plugs will help any....but it's your money.
