No, I didn't miss a shift, and it seemed to be fine when I pulled up to the dealer this morning. It was misfiring when I was having the studdering issue while I was driving last night. The misfiring was coming and going as it pleased...No way for me to reproduce it, and it looks like the dealer has not had it recreated. They just know that it did it from the check engine light.
And you right, the plugs are not going to do a damn thing, but it is not going to hurt anything either. From what I understood, the dealer said nothing of charging me for them, so I will see what happens on Monday.

Have you had the new intake on for awhile or did you just install it, a vacuum leak in the intake manifold or unmetered air getting past the airflow sensor could also cause the misfire.

I have had the intake on for about two weeks. I removed it before I took it to the dealer just incase the would like to lay the blame there. While taking it off took note of everything to see if something had come loose. I couldn't find anything that looked off.

With today's cars it could be anything but here's a guess, the maf sensor may have gotten some oil residue from the oiled air filter, which could cause a misfire. Just my worth.

If it was an AiRaid that is possible (shorter distance), but not with the CGS - the distance is too far. I've pulled a whole bunch of them off and never is their oil on the sensor of inside the intake tube near it.

I'm still convinced the misfire resulted from the auto fuel shut-off being enacted at 6750rpm...very plausible.

Though I still am not convinced, I do lean towards your theory. I still stick behind my story that I didn’t get that close to redline, but the gauge may not be as accurate as the sensor that controls the fuel shutoff. Either way, the dealer is covering it, I have a rental, and I can deal with it for a weekend…
There was no oil on the mass airflow sensor; it was clean when I pulled it out.

trey

You can't trust anyone anymore can you.

I have had my CGS on for about 3,500 miles, since the middle of July, and I have had it off an on a number of times. I haven't seen any indication of oil or anything else. I do have a 2.4L with an automatic and I don't push it much, my wife drives it most of the time.

I thought the code reader could pinpoint the problem more closely than just a misfire. I still don't understand these new motors. Give me an old 4 barrel carburetor that I can tear apart and rebuild on the kitchen table

Mike, not to disagree with you but oil residue/vapor I believe could travel the distance on a CGS intake, as I said earlier it could be anything...including just a freak occurrence.
