Drives me crazy! light goes on and off sometimes when the weather temperature is extreme, sometimes for no reason. I have been told it has to do with the gas cap, the temperature sender, the ignition switch and an internal engine sender!!!

The engine runs just fine. Been doing this for 7 years!

Anybody have this problem and a solution. Motor vehicles won't pass for inspection if the light is on!

What are the codes being generated by the CEL being lit? Without those codes, no one can give any sort of educated response. And the codes themselves are needed - not a description, as the description the mechanic or the store clerk gives may not be quite accurate.

Closed this thread until the codes are acquired - just pm one of the mods to re-open it.
