I got my first check engine light after 3 weeks of owning my HHR. It was morning and my car wouldn't start. I had lights and the radio were showing good signs of power so I knew it wasn't the battery. It took about ten minutes and it started for me. I seen on here I'm not the only one with this problem, now it's just figuring out what it is.

It's sunday so I took it to autozone just to pull the code, P1682. They aren't sure what that code means on a chevy but I guess I'll find out at the dealer tomorrow.

Be sure your gas cap is on right that happen to me and it was the Gas cap

Bad security code is probably being sent to the Passlock system. Keep taking it back to the dealer until its fixed--this can be a nightmare to troubleshoot and repair.
