Check Engine & T/C lights ON
I have a 2007 LT2 with about 35,700 miles on it.
I've been having a problem with my check engine and traction control lights for a while now. At first it was just the engine light coming on...it was on for a day or 2 and went off, then it stayed on for close to a week. I brought it in and they ran the computer diagnostic and found that it showed a cylinder 4 misfire code. They erased the code and told me to keep an eye on it.
Then the next time the check engine light came on it was accompanied by the traction control light. I've noticed now that the traction light seems to come on when the check engine light is already on and I sit idle at a light or in a drive-thru the light will come on and the message board will say "service traction" followed by "traction off". However, it only stays on for as long as I run the car...(i.e. if I turn my car off and then start it again, the traction light doesn't stay on..but the check engine light is still on).
I made an appointment to bring it in to the dealer soon, hoping that everything should be covered on warranty. But I wanted to see if anyone else has had this or a similar problem or some possible issues the dealer might tell me (what is legitimate vs. what they'll try to milk out of me).
Thanks!
