Yes , I’ve had the fuel tank out three times , once for the fuel pump, then again for the fuel lines, and a third time for the primary pipe .
I jacked up the car in one side put jack stands under , then jacked up the other side and supported with two jack stands.
You will need to release the exhaust hangers to lower the pipe and move it out of the way .
I did this twice in freezing cold weather, in my driveway.
yes I’m in my mid sixties and yes, I’m certifiable Car Crazy!

Hmm well with my background of engine work and repairs I have done on other engines and normal maintenance on the HHR I should be able to do it. Only thing is it’s our only ride so I would have to hope nothing went wrong..

I hear ya once changed a busted heater core in a parking lot in 4” of snow and maybe 25-30 degrees. Sucked!

Hmmmm. I added a auto parts "lock gas cap" back in 2009 on mine, that I saved from my last S-10 & all is good.
