The code causing the CEL will tell what the problem is. That is the reason it exists.
The reluctor ring is a hunk i=of metal with teeth on the edge. I don't know how it could be damaged without intent. I guess sticking a screw driver into the sensor hole while the engine is running could do it or a bad rebuild job.
A new crankshaft sensor requires programming. That would cause a P0315 sensor variation not learned. Usually only happens when the ECM is replaced. It means a blank spot in the data. Usually does not cause obvious problems.
P0324-P0336 have to do with the sensor and its circuitry.
My choice is not in the poll. I would consider some legal actions.
