Chug a lugging along
#11
Been on for about 6 years from the hollow cat.
It connects and reads codes.
I have it scanned about every 3 months just to check things.
Had a new cat and O2 sensors installed about 6 months ago and it plugged up in about 3,000 mi so I hollowed it out again.
It does burn some oil. Enough apparently to destroy catalytic converters in about 3,000 MI, but the plugs last about a year.
I am constantly taking apart and cleaning things and maintaining it to keep it going.

It does burn some oil.
Enough to destroy a catalytic converter in about 3,000 mi but not enough to foul the plugs for about a year.
Just had a brand new cat and O2 sensors on it 6 months ago and it burned it up again and 3,000 MI so I hollered it back out. No other codes other than stuff I already replaced like the O2 sensor. I made a catch can for it and I keep the throttle body and everything I can as clean as I can to mitigate things plugging up and to keep it going till I can do a rebuild.

Been this way for about 6 years.
It is what it is until I can rebuild or replace the engine.
For now it runs great with the exception of this issue and a bit of smoke when I get on it really hard between shifts.
Put over 130k on it with a hollow catalytic converter not really certain why the computer would just suddenly start having a problem with it unless there were some other sensor or something causing it.

Yes, it will misfire at low RPM if there is no fuel injector cleaner added to the fuel. The fuel octane or type doesn't matter either. It just wants fuel injector cleaner to run normal at low RPM.

Ever hear the expression if you don't have anything good to say then don't say it at all?
