clicking/popping noise when braking and accelerating
First it was the clunk. Changed my control arms and sway bar links with mevotec. A few months later I heard a knocking noise. We down under the car and saw that that inner and outer tie rod boots were torn. Replaced those with mevotec since the company I work for carries the brand. Not bad at all. Struts were replaced a Little over a year ago. Now this clicking or popping noise I'm hearing annoys me. It only happens when I brake or accelerate. Never while I turn. Only exception is while I brake and turn at the same time does it click. But when I turn without applying the brake, no click is heard. Idk what else to replace. Any input on this issue would help.

Today I jacked up the car. Didn't notice anything loose or out of the ordinary with the calipers. But I did notice that my outside cv boots clamp was broken and grease coming out of the boot. Now in the past I've noticed bad cv axles make noise while turning. My car makes the popping/ clicking noise when I come from a dead stop or push my brakes. Could it be possible that my cv axle is bad?

Ok. I just bought the cv axles. They didn't offer a reman?? So I went with the new ones. Now I've read about a stub shaft on the passenger side. Now what tool besides the gm tool could I use to remove that?

The correct tool is a bearing separator but they are expensive.
I used an exhaust clamp and a small hammer.
Be sure to match the bellows on the boots. There should be 6 or 8 folds, I think. The new ones I got once had fewer and they cracked in very short order.
Don't remember the exact number right now.
