Clutch Wearing Through Carpet

Clutch Wearing Through Carpet
Does anyone else have a problem with the clutch wearing through the carpet?
My 2009 SS now has a bald spot about an inch and a half tall and half an inch wide where my clutch pedal has rubed the carpet off it's backing. Simple Fix right? just don't push the clutch in all the way...... Wrong in order to start the car my clutch hase to be matted. Is it normal to have to puch the clutch in so far to start? Has any one else had this poblem? Will the dealer handel it and replace the carpet like I want? can I adjust the safty switch so I do not have to push it in so far at start?
Oh by the way the car only has about 5000 MI on it so I am sure by the time I am due for another oil change the spot will be huge.

Seems you are not the only one: Carpet wear

Can't figure. I just checked the carpet and clutch pedal travel on my '08 SS and didn't see any noticable wear on the carpet. It has 9000 miles on it just today. With a bright flashlight, I do see some potential wear that could occur to the left of the pedal if a driver habitually didn't center their foot on the pedal, but that's all that I can see. You may have a claim for the dealer to rectify.

Thats just it is is not my foot at all if I go in a nd push it in by hand, you can see that the pedal is what is rubbing the carpet. I also noticed that the sound deadening material behind the carpet is not sitting flat on the floor causing the carpet to bubble up and that is why it is hitting.
