They give you a loaner during the repair period.
They didn`t say there wasn`t a leak, they said if no lights were on, it probably would be safe to drive it to the dealership.
If it`s not running hot, it probably can make it.

It may be just me but I would not drive a vehicle with coolant leaking. Too much risk IMHO. If it is still under warranty why not call roadside assistance?

The term 'leak' is relative.
You certainly don`t intend on calling a tow for every occurance for the length of ownership, do you.
The car made it to the shop, hence the loaner, no tow was necessary.

I wish. When I called them yesterday to arrange an appointment, and when they told me to go ahead and drive it there, they promised to have it looked at today by 10am, and call me to let know the problem. To quote the service writer on Firday: "If its something minor, we'll have it done tomorrow, if its soemthing major it will be into next week." (They work on til noon Saturdays)

When I had not rec'd a call by noon, I called. Service dept closed, sales checks on it and tells me didn't even look at it today. So now it sits there all day tomorrow (closed) and at least all day Monday.

Man...some dealers give GM a bad name. That's a shame.Keep us posted would you? I am sure many of us would like to know about a potential trouble item. Thanks,HB

Thus the "IMHO". Yes, when it comes to a coolant leak, I think I would. I would of course be choosy if it were out of warranty and I was paying for the towing and would depend on the size of the leak.

Admittedly, the HHR is HOT LOOKING... ...but me thinks they either got tied up on other cars or whatever, BUT they could have at least called. I just purchased it there about two weeks ago.

The service writer said "if it was minor, Sat., major, next week", maybe it`s major.
You know, sometimes 'we' HHR owners aren`t on the top of every elses mind, and time flies, quitting time comes, they`re out of there. That`s pretty much how the rest of the world operates.
Have you never forgotten to return a call, that someone thought was really important, life goes on, LR has a loaner, not stranded.
