just got my HHR bout 3months ago. And be darn same thing here with me.. have no clue where the coolant going. Then yesterday was time loss. I noticed ac stopped working then the manual temp gauge stopped along with the digital temp gauge as s well. Did you all figure out anything? I'm now to the HHR family and new to this.

You should read the date on that post you quoted. It’s from 15 years ago ! Besides that , SPPD hasn’t been on this site since 2013. Doubt you’ll get a response from them.

This is a good place. Lots of current members here. If you’re looking for help, start a new thread with your car info,(model, engine and mileage) plus what the problem is. Your current post at the end of this old thread will be missed by most folks.

My guess is you’ve got a Check Engine Light (CEL) on also. Bet it’s a code P0128.
Start that new thread and we’ll tell you how to proceed.

Right here in these forums. Much more accurate than fb, with diligent moderators. New stuff every day. Just lurk and listen for awhile to get a sense of the culture.

Tap "new posts" for current topics.

There is a huge archive here so you're sure to find info you need, but it might take some effort.

2008 hhr ls 2.2

  1. I'm new to this forum and also new to the 2008 HHR 2.2. I happen to have noticed the temp hand didn't move and the digital coolant has slashes ---- not reading the temp. Also the ac is blowing but no cold air. So any ideas what is going on. Im on a fixed income and trying to figure it out. Thanks.
    Edit

Oil missing

What was in there before the timing chain service was definitely older than 5 years though, so thanks for letting me know.

I checked the oil today and noticed that I was low on oil again, either 1 quart or more than one quart. Not sure why, but the side of the dipstick with the notches reads higher than the backside on a level surface.
Yes I seem to have oil missing as well. Idk where it has gone to. Mine was needing a quart in two weeks period. Not sure on milage in between. Did you figure out anything. Im all new to my 2008 HHR 2.2

to the forums!

98% of the time, this is a bad thermostat issue. Get the ACDelco 131-158, accept no substitute. Here is the how-to https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/how-...l-p0128-24493/
