Cracked windshield

That's how they save enough money to pay for all of their commercials! I currently have Auto-Owners on my house and cars but most cover glass on comp.

If you shop around, you can find someone who will waive the deductible. After you get the insurance, that is. Check with your insurance company, it may be included in your comprehensive. If the crack is smaller than a dollar bill, it can be repaired and most insurance don't charge a deductible.
Dollars to donuts, whoever replaces the windshield will get it from Safelite, they are probably the largest distributor of auto glass.

Like everything else, there are several prices for the same piece of glass. I had one installed in a truck where I work. Since they're self insured they pay for it and I got a $450 list windshield installed for $140.

Dont be afraid to call aorund and check prices. I had to have the windshield replaced in my 95 Grand Prix about 4 years ago and I found a place that came to my house and changed it out in my driveway for $250.

The factory windshields have no tint strip (in the glass) across the top..
I had the tinted one installed during the purchase of mine. Cost me $O.
Could the Ohio cold & the defroster heat have caused the crack, I'd say possible..
