Cruise.remote Start And Door Locks

My cruise, remote start, and door locks all stopped working, and there was a click noise in the consul by the shift lever when I put on the brake.
I took the car to the dealer who checked the codes and said they found a
trans pressure code which they reset and then everything worked.
Cost me $80.00---anyone else have this happen ??

$80 for a dealer repair. It must have been a 10 minute fix.

Unhappy Cruise, Door Locks and Remote Start QUit

I have had this problem two times. Each time I was driving in slush and snow with freezing temps. Something freezes the shift linkage electrical switch and it acts as if the shifter has not been moved from park. The transmission works fine but the doors will not lock and unlock with the shifter, the remote start doesn't work and the cruise will not engage. I took it to the dealer and each time after it had thawed it works fine. I suspect something under the console is being blocked by ice and snow. The dealer gave me lip service and said, "they couldn't find a problem as everything was working correctly. Incidently the click noise you hear when you put onthe brake when this occurs is the lock solenoid release for the shifter engaging.
Has anyone experienced this problem and is there a place to look for a fix.

Just Happened Again

My cruise, auto locks and remote start went out again this week
First the trans started shifting hard. I shut the car off. When I started the car again it shifted properly, but the cruise, auto locks, and remote do not work

Cruise, remote start will not work if you downshift an automatic transmission for what ever reason. the down shifting causes fluid pressure drop and will give you a code in the transmission. clear the code and everything works fine. It may not happen the first time you downshift but it will catch up with you. I speak from experience. been there, done that.

Thanks For Reply

Is there a way for me to reset the PCM without taking the car to the dealer everytime it happens? Is there a recommended scanner etc... I could purchase if necessary ?
thanks

Just had the same problem with the wife's HHR. (no remote start or door locks when shifting out of Park) Disconnected the battery ground for 1/2 hr. to reset puter. Reconnected and all is good again. Hope this helps.
