Question Damaged Chevy Bowtie

Is there an easy fix for the bowtie when it looks like this? (my back hatch door) Or do I need to replace it with a new one?

Had this happen to mine in back, water just gets in there. Best bet, pop it off with a putty knife, clean it with a 3m pad. Paint it and reapply with marine silicone.

That is meant to go on the front of the bowtie, and after about a year of washing and weather, your no better off. Krylon makes a great plastic paint, just again clean with a good degreaser and a 3m pad and apply paint will last much longer. I originally went with a carbon fiber vinyl. It peeled and bubbled and color faded.

its originally attached by double sided tape, you can either silicone it back on or use a heavy duty double sided tape again. Just make sure to clean up the backing so that there is no more of the old sticky stuff on it when you apply the new stuff. Best thing is to sand, prime and paint it, water and windshield washer fluid gets in it and it eats away at the gold leaf inside the emblem, if you replace it with a new emblem, it will just happen again, so just paint it! :)

my front is bad too~ worse than the back actually. I am hoping to replace the grill at some point so Im not too concerned with my front.

I have another issue thats driving me crazy! My remote start! Every night it turns on by its self. Ive had the car since June and never did this untill several weeks ago. I was just up under the dash to see if I could see the make of the remote but all I could see was "Auto Made" with the flash light as I didnt remove the other panel behind the one i took off under the wheel.

Tomorrow Im going to go park at the bank or somewhere other than my driveway to see if it starts on its own at 7:40pm. I have a feeling my neighbor is playing games with a remote that maybe is on the same frequency.. possible?
