dashboard lights not working

I did a search, but could not find any similar issues.

When my headlamps come on, the only backlights that are on are the ones on the Instrument panel and the radio display (not buttons). All the rest of the car is dark. No HVAC, No radio buttons, No window switches, No turbo boost gage, not even that LED in the roof by sunroof controls.
It seems that everything that is controlled by the dimmer doesn't work.
The funny thing is that when lights come on, or are turned on, they all work for a few seconds, then go out. Like I said the lights in the instrument cluster (speedo, tach, fuel, temp) work, but do not dim.

Does anyone know if there is a module that controls these lights?
Has anyone else had and resolved the same problem?

BCM controls the lights but the dimmer switch is after the BCM. From your description, it sounds like a dimmer switch issue.

Or, the bubble on the dash is doing it's job. What happens if you cover it?

The headlamps function properly on or off auto. it's just the interior/"dash"/waterfall lights.

Seems to be the dimmer switch part number 10393367,
has dimmed its last!

They're on the EBay fairly priced

This may be on the right track (dimmer). The lights come on for a few seconds EVERY TIME, and then go out EVERY TIME after a few seconds.
Is there a way to test or "bypass" the dimmer to confirm?

What I was getting at is that thee are a few different levels of dash lights controlled by the bubble. Dusk is different from full night etc.

Maybe, you just never noticed. I am 1,000 miles away.

But I can manually turn on the headlamps with the stalk with the same results. Does the bubble have anything to do with that?

Thanks for everyone's input!
Thanks for the link Oldblue, for $10, I think it is probably worth trying the dimmer 1st.
Ordered.
I will follow up with everyone after I try it and find out if this was the issue.
