Decided to take the hhr on one last road trip.. Huge mistake
Well I decided to take the hhr on one last road trip before GM does the whole buyout/trade thing.... the reason why it hasnt been done yet is because the attorneys are fighting over attorney fee's.... which GM brought onto itself, anyways, well we went to padre island to enjoy some much needed rest and relaxation when the inevitable happened.. you got it.... damn thing overheated again.... just my luck. This makes 8 times!!! anyways... ended up having to stay an extra night. Had to call a friend of mine to come pick us up. The car is still in corpus while I'm in houston (3 1/2 hours away) trying to figuare out how the hell I'm going to go get it. They informed me that they had to replace the radiator for the 4th time due to it cracking at the corner because of it overheating. Other than that... the weekend went well... had a great time at the beach.....

its funny u should say that... I'm on a first name basis with enterprise. I went to corpus today to pick up my hrr, almost made it home, 30 minutes untill I got to the house it overheated..... upper radiator hose blew while I wuz driving 80mph.... temp shot up.... smoke went everywhere.... the local dealer had to order the hose... should be in tomorrow so its back into a rental.... anyways, as far as hhr's overheating, from what I have read, mine is the only one thats likes to overheat on a regular basis.... GM engineers have yet to know why or what is causing it

Otherwise, i would put a concrete block on the gas pedal, and let the engine overheat for a good reason, and then let it scream and die a painful death (make sure you have a big fire extinguisher nearby, though).
You can get a complete 2.2 or 2.4 engine from many salvage yards, at a very good price.

knowing my luck if it would catch on fire my insurance would be the one to have to pay.... I am very surprised though that it didnt catch fire yet, i am greatful if hasnt yet but still surprised (this wuz th 9th time it overheated). Dealing with the lemon law isnt that fustrating, its the waiting game that is hard. As for GM and lawyers.... now thats a pain in the a##...... lol I'm just assuming that they, GM was trying to play the waiting game to see if I would just give up and go trade it in, which I almost did a few times.
