DIC Warning "Service Esc"

I was about to comment how problem free my 2008 automatic with 8,000 great miles in NYC has been. Now after parking my Service ESC came on and I had lost all power steering. Any comments before it goes back into the shop?

Thanks!

My HHR has had the same problem. If you look under the hood in the fuse panel, you will find the fuse for the steering ( it is located on the furthest row back toward the firewall and left toward the engine. It is a 60 amp fuse. Mine has blown the fuse about 6 times, but I haven't had a chance to bring it in to the dealer. Replace the fuse and take it in to the dealer.

So here is an update. I brought in the car on June 1st and a relay was replaced (under warranty of course). Everything worked fine until yesterday when the same issue arose. No power steering and the Service ESC light back on. It is now again in the shop for already 24 hours and they are trying to figure out why this issue keeps popping up. I will keep you posted!

Angry

So now I am told that the part required, the Power Steering Control Module, will not be available until Thursday (it is now Tuesday and I dropped the car off on Monday morning). This is starting to irritate me somewhat.

Latest saga

So here is my latest update on this power steering problem: brought it in yesterday because the dealer had finally received the power steering module - was put in and everything was fine until 4 hours later. After I parked the same problem - no power steering. I just brought it in again (4th time now within 3 weeks) and they will get in contact with GM regarding this issue. I am getting a wee bit upset over it but there is nothing I can do. So far, the dealership (Meyer Chevrolet in NYC) has been fine, everything falls under the warranty, but still...

It looks like they figured out what the problem was: this is what the mechanic wrote: "a short to ground circuit #1539/1339 Center Console - checked a ll circuits and traced shorts to air bag shorting fuse - rem oved (sic) steering wheel and repaired wire 339 to prevent short". Hopefully this will do the trick but I will give another update in case I experience the same problem again.

Good info, I guess I will take it to my dealer now and give him a heads up as to what your dealer found, so I will not have to bring it in 4-5 times.
Thanks for the great updates.
