Does HHR Emissions Warranty Include Flex Pipe
#11
tuscondivots - just FYI - I knew it was the flex only after I had it looked at by the repair shop which was kind enough to suggest I go to a dealership and try to have the warranty cover the work (that, and it was excruciating loud).
Again, Thanks to all. Found a dealership with a great service dept., they took a quick look before I made the appt. to confirm it was the flex pipe and had it fixed today and yes, it was covered by the warranty. Although my guess is it really does depend on the dealership. Not that they should be able to say it isn't included in the warranty but from my experience I would not be surprised if some find a way around the warranty.
Thanks again!

You are right on it's up the dealership to cover the repair or not. Technically the converter did not fail so it's not covered. But the fix requires the converter and flex pipe be replaced as an assembly. So when a dealer submits a claim to GM, the Labor Operation number is for a covered 8/80 part, so the warrany system pays the claim.
Glad you found a dealer to work with you on this issue.
