My dome light does not come on when I open rear hatch. The DIC says the rear gate is open but no light. I stopped by dealer today and they say it should be working. I have to drop off for tech to look at. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this issue.

Welcome to the site. Is the switch on the dome light in the proper position, sometimes they get pushed in the wrong direction. Switch itself may be bad.
Does it come on when you move the sw to the on position? maybe the bulb

 

I checked the switch position and it is in the middle and it works with all doors except rear hatch.

 

I have the samething, I thought it was odd that the light did not come on when the hatch was opened. Is this something that is supposed to happen?

 

The service advisor said it should be working. I had an alarm put in that operates off dome light so the alarm sets when I have hatch open and will go off when I close hatch. I have to make appt to see tech at dealer.

 

I'm guessing at this....but I think the rear dome light has 3 POSITION....off (the dome light doesn't work but the front courtesy lights do), on (continually) and on with doors/hatch open.

Again, I'm guessing...it's late at night for me.

I just happened to be out in the garage and checked mine. Middle position is dome light on with the hatch open or any other door, third position is always on, first position is off.

 

I brought my vehicle in Monday and they still cannot figure this problem out. They updated the software in the BCM which was in the TSB. It did not fix this. I also read about a switch on rear hatch. Has anyone had any other success at dealer with this dome light and rear hatch problem? Anything I can let the dealer look into.
