Update-the bubbles are back particularly on the driver's door. Obviously, while the intent was good, the fix wasn't. Mine starting rusting within a year of new. I had intended to keep this car for a long time, now I'm debating getting rid of it. Or taking a bodywork class. My '08 didn't have this problem. Do I bother going back to the dealer, get some POR15 and have at it myself, or just cut my losses and off the thing? Really disappointed! Seems partly bad assembly, and partly poor design. Often when I open the doors after it's rained some water comes out of the drain holes. As if the rubber seal holds it in there, that can't be good.

Hate to say it man, but gee don't be so lazy - Go look it up on the internet - lots of Youtube videos as well on various uses of it. Good stuff apparently.

mine has some bubbling just on the inside
the oil should help a lot u need to thin it with some trans fluid and spray it and it will creep in between the door and the skin and slow the rust down some

@Musicguy, could you refresh my memory as to when you had the work done the first time? I ask this since there should be a 12 month or 12,000 mile warranty on the work they did.

Can you post a pic of said 'bubbles'? I'm having a hard time figuring out where these are occurring by just your description. Thanks

Try this thread for pictures....go down a couple of posts.

As you can see by this original thread, the problem has been around for a while.

It was just done in the end of July. My thought is just, am I flogging a dead horse. They could do the same thing and it will just come back again.

I do know GM of Canada will cover it, if it's under your 3 year 36 warrenty. After that, unfortunetly your on your own. My girlfriends 06 LS has been brought in for that three years ago and it will need to be taken in the next couple of years to have it redone. This time, she has to pay for it. Love the car, but a very poor design on Chevrolet's part.

This is by far the most troubling post I have read. I did lots of research on the hhr, and did not hear of this problem all....
I would be devastated if this car started rusting on me......
In Vancouver we get lots of rain, but little snow......so the salt thing does not last long on our roads.....
Any tips on what to look for and do for preventetive medicine?
