Door Locks

Hi guys, today while driving to work my door locks seemed like they were having a seizure.Plungers were moving but only about half stroke. Did it for about a mile and quit, couple more miles and went back into it again. When I got to work I shut car off and it did it again only this time plungers weren't even moving. Pulled the keys out and opened door and it stopped. On the way home it done it off and on numerous times. When I got home doors did not auto unlock when shifting to park. Unlock button wouldn't even unlock them.
Restarted car and then worked fine. FOB is a Dorman replacement which constantly shows the key fob battery low message. Also I thought if car was running the fob was disabled. I can't honestly remember if the factory fob was or not. Any ideas guys.

Replace the battery in the Dorman fob, where is the OEM fob? If it's in the HHR it'll send the battery signal to the BCM through the RCDL module
I've seen this also when the car battery was low, so have the battery checked.

I in fact did replace the battery in the fob figuring it was low. It in fact tested fine but replaced it anyway. Car battery replaced last year and I don't have any issues whatsoever. This just happened today so I am wondering if it is something to due with our incredible thaw we have been having. I guess wait and see is in order. Original fob was pooched and I figured I would try the dorman. I may just leave it at home and see if problem is still there or not.

You might try a battery lobotomy, disconnect the negative terminal at the battery for 30 minutes

Could a bad fob, could be a loose battery cage. Those would be reasons for the low battery warning, assuming there is a relation.

Well today was uneventful. I never done anymore to it than checking the underhood fusebox yesterday. I only went over every fuse and relay making sure they were seated. Everything was fine today so I guess it is wait and see.
