Door sticker
So I was drying the door area where the serial tag is on my SS after washing and the serial tag fell off . The dealer says the tag can not be reissued and will have to be clear glue somehow back on . The clear over lay with the numbering on it separated from the backing . This left an ugly silver rectangle behind . Super glue doesn't seem to be the answer .--Bob

The super glue didn't work .I've got a peice of clear over it now with sample of the body shop techs dirty finger prints under it . The dealer says they will come up with something better because they've had a few more do it too .The biggest thing is to save it if it falls off because they say it can't be replaced new from GM .--Bob

Yeah that stuff would more than likely hold it. It wouldn't be very smooth or pretty like the factory job . I wonder what they do when a door is crashed badly in the door latch area and the sticker is trashed ? Don't they replace them so it looks factory again ?--Bob

I never noticed that the serial number was on it so figured there was a standard decal that could be ordered... Maybe they peel it off the old one and hot glue it back on

A lot of them don't. It's the first sign that the car was in a collision when you see the label is missing.

I was hoping you would see this on here. Is it true that the dealer can't get a new sticker ? I wanted a new one or the original one put back on to look like factory again . The big silver rectangle looked terrible ! Have you seen any in your area just falling off .I ordered my HHR/SS new and don't want to have to argue someday with someone defending that it's never been crashed .I've owned GM cars and trucks since 1964 and never had this happen before. I always save all documents to prove originality and leave stickers on also .--Bob
