Doors rubbing against body
Both of my front doors are rubbing against the body in spots. I've had the car since the end of April and in the areas where contact is made they have rubbed all of the blue paint off. These are small areas I'll try to get pics up sometime soon.
I have had the car into the dealership and spoke with the body shop manager. He says the doors cannot be adjusted on the HHR and the only thing he can do is order new door weather stripping to see if that will push the door out a little bit more but he is doubtful. I'm waiting on the new seals.
If there is no adjustment possible on the doors is this a common issue for the HHR? Has anyone else had a door rub and had luck getting it successfully repaired?

Is it metal on metal or the snow buildup a lot of us here in colder climates are dealing with? The snow sounds like metal on metal and I often find myself checking to make sure that's all it is.

I believe that is Bulls**t. The latch is what controls how far in the door will go, and the rubber seals are what press outward on the door to stabilize it in the closed position. I've adjusted the latch on my Toyota truck before, because it was doing the exact same thing as what I see in your picture. It did that brand new from the factory. Your door is going in too far before the latch engages. All you should have to do is loosen the latch and move it outward a tiny bit at a time until the door closes snugly and it stops hitting the body. Not rocket science.

My passanger rear door had a line of scuffed paint when i bought it. I realized when you open the pass rear door it was touching the front pass. door when all the way open. i removed the door protectors, and solved the problem. not quite the same as yours but smiliar. hope it gets fixed!
