Doors wont auto lock when pulled from park..

Me too
I have been having this problem on my '06 for about a year. Every once in a while it happens as I get in and head to work. Everything works fine until about 10 yards down the road when I apply the brake as I turn and I hear the clicking. The next thing I get is hard shifting for the rest of my trip to work. By the end of the day the shifting issue is gone but the auto door locks have stopped working. It has always self-corrected after several days.
I remember reading somewhere that the fix was to take it to a shop and have the computer reprogrammed, or something like that.
One time I was having the issue and the car went into limp mode.

I had the exact same problem about a year ago: https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/problems-service-repairs-42/new-shifter-problem-39067/
I assumed that it was the shifter assembly and ordered a new one. Unfortunately, the problem went away on it's own(after 2-3 weeks) before I had a chance to install the new shifter. I got the new shifter installed and never had the problem again.... but I never got confirmation that it was indeed the shifter. I'd really like to get to the bottom of this before it happens again.
Another symptom that I had was that the "I" and "L" gears were no different than "D" when the problem was present.

I'm currently having the same problem. I've heard the shifter has some issues, I.E. can't get the key out of the ignition. Thankfully I haven't had that problem.
How tough was it to install the new shifter? And how much did it cost you?
I did have the hard shifting about a year ago, but when I stopped it and restarted it, it went away. Honestly, I didn't mind the hard shifting, kind of reminded me of the shift kit I had in my 1972 Grand Prix. (smirk)

Well I suspected that something in the shifter assembly was bad because I had a bunch of symptoms (doors not locking automatically, selenoid clicking when pressing the brake, and ineffective I & L gears) that looked like they where due to the BCM not knowing what the shifter position was, but I also wanted the new version of the shifter (the one with the soft boot instead of the sliding gate). I had the hard shifting briefly as well, but that went away after a day. My problem was not related to the stuck key issue; I never had that and what I'm describing here is completely different.
Shifter cost me just > $100. Install is not difficult, but you need to find a way to hold the nuts up from underneath when re-installing (fingers don't fit). I used a narrow folded cardboard strip for that.
