Not sarcasm the legend says "S" is splice, and since it doesn't make much sense except for a link, must be. They mention how to replace links and what they are, but never do indicate where they might be. There is another splice near the blower. And part numbers for "splice packs", I think. I don't have time to look right now.

Oh gosh I get what you're saying now. A fusible link is a different type of wire 'spliced' into the cable.

I can't find any part numbers for the splices, just one for what they call a splice pack that is really the GMlan connector to the instrument panel.

I guess splicing a chunk of 20 ga wire into a 16 ga circuit would count as a fusible link. The starter draws probably 40 A and the alternator puts out probably 20 A. (just guessing at specs) So. putting a smaller ga wire between the starter and alternator would serve to protect the alternator.

I am having the same exact problem! I have had the battery tested 3 times and the alternator has been tested, both are good. I've had a diagnostic ran, that came out fine. Yet, my battery is being drained, to the extent that it has to be jumped every time I try to start it. Sometimes it has enough power to run lights and the stereo, but if it's not jumped like once a day or so, then it will eventually go completely dead. Could this be an manufacturing malfunction?

I have also had all fuses and battery terminals checked... Everyone who has checked out my car and I are at a loss. I'm told that something could be grounding out and draining the battery. The dealership wants $100.00+ just to run an hour long electrical test. I can't afford to do that unless I know for a fact that it will do any good. I'm not good at just throwing money away.

Only if the problem started in 2010 shortly after leaving the factory...

OP problem was battery was draining as he was driving. Are you having this issue also? Or is it draining while parked?

Have you read the thread and already tried all the suggestions?

I'm not exactly sure, I don't even claim to be anything near a mechanic. Last Tuesday I made a 4 hour long road trip, started fine twice during my trip, and even the next morning. Started fine all day Wednesday, we went several places. On Thursday morning we went to a store, came back out and it wouldn't start, it clicked and my speedometer needle shook a bit and had a slight buzz as it shook. The lights and stereo were on, but not nough power to start my car, had to get the store security to jump it. When I tried to start it to return home it had to be jumped, then I stopped to fill the tank a few blocks away from where I had just gotten jumped, and had to jump it again after getting fuel. It got me back home, but it was daylight so it was difficult to see if my dash lights were dimming at all. And I don't know if I was just paranoid or what, but I felt like it was kind of sluggish, as though it didn't want to move, or I could have been so paranoid that I was babying it the entire drive. I was by myself with a my 3 year old twins in the backseat. When I got home, I took it to AutoZone had a diagnostic ran, battery and alternator tested. Then a friend that works on cars wanted to confirm AutoZones results. And then another friend tested the battery again, and the fuses, he even tried to swap out the battery just to try. Nothing is working. And it has quit jumping from the front, now I must jump it directly to the battery, every single time I shut it off.
