E brake sticking after sitting for 2 or 3 days
I have had several occurences of the e brake sticking after sitting for a couple of days, sometimes it will release by actuating the handle a couple of times, but the last time it required the bump at the end of our lane to release. Since then, I have had a vibration/shudder in the passengers rear. Anyone else had this problem?

Not with the HHR, but I had this happen with a much older car. It's probably the cable binding somewhere and it needs a replacement. If it's under warranty, why not take it in? Oh, and you probably have a vibration because it's still partially stuck and/or you drove it with the brake stuck and wore out some rear brake components.

I have had this problem, never took it to the dealer though and I am now outside of warranty.(54,000 miles) Usually only happens in cold weather especially after a thaw and a freeze. I haven't really looked into it but next time I rotate the tires I am going to see if there are any exposed areas in the cable (I assume it is a cable to the rear drums) that could be freezing up.

Would it be absurd, silly, outrageous, preposterous, and ridiculous to suggest (automatic transmission at least) HHR owners not to use their parking brake in snow and ice season? YES of course it would be, it’s a free country you know.
