electrical problem?

P0010 and P0011. I realize the timing of the A/C problem could be coincidental, I was just taking a stab at a common connector that could be the problem. 2009 LS 143,000 miles always had oil changed at 3-4,000 mile intervals but I realize the screen in the cam timing actuator could be clogged. Unusual though for both to go at the exact same time. I will spend some time with it thi weekend and keep you posted. Thanks to all for the input.

The P0010/11 refer only to the INTAKE solenoid. P0013/14 refer to the EXHAUST one.
At 140,000 miles tis time to change at least the INTAKE Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoid Valve - GM p/n: 12655420 - but check with your GM parts guy to verify it is the latest(stick with the genuine GM ones as they are assured to be the latest and greatest version).
You may want to consider replacing the exhaust one at the same time while you have things torn apart - GM p/n: 12655421.

Thank you for that input. I would have never thought that a cam timing issue would shut down A/C, but you learn something every day. I had pretty much decided it was time for a new solenoid anyway so I'll just do that & keep you posted.

Replaced cam actuator & cleared code p0011. A/C still not working. No "low Charge" code & checked with A/C gauge , refrigerant OK.

Try the old battery negative disconnect for thirty minutes to reset everything.
While you're waiting those thirty minutes check the fuse panel halves, loose ground wires , the connection to the compressor, ensure the fuses and relays are all tight in their sockets.
Now thirty minutes has flown by , reconnect the battery cable start up the HHR and let us know the out come!

Also. If you cleared just the P0011 code, there could be another code pending or stored.
As stated before, there are numerous different codes that will disable the AC compressor.

Clearing codes does not fix anything, it just forces the computer to start running "monitors" all over again. Some don't run until after 17 COLD starts with the correct volume of gas in the tank and the correct sequence of speeds, in my case it takes at least 2 weeks to make the EVAP monitor run.
