Eng Pwr Reduced, check engine light, will not move
Yup...the title pretty much sums it up. I've checked most of the eng pwr reduced threads and at least some owners are able to limp to the dealership or back to the house. I am afraid that my situation does not allow me to do even that.
Whenever I turn on my air conditioner and let's say I stop at a drive thru (which is what happened today), the "eng pwr reduced" message will come on. In the past, I shut off the car, turned it back on and voila!; the message was gone and throttle was normal. Now, whenever I get that message and I step on the gas...nothin'! No rev of the engine...NOTHING!
I have been going to the back of the car and pulling out the fuse every time...which by the way, gets rid of the check engine light until I shut the car off and turn it back on the next day, like magic it reappears...
Of course this fixes the problem and I am able to drive away praying that this does not happen while I am in transit. I don't know if it is all connected in any way. My check engine light is always on (but doesn't affect performance or gas mileage), my temp gauge flat lines and the A/C blows hot air more frequently and now I can't take the car out without getting that message. I am afraid that one day, pulling/reinserting the fuse will not work.
My question is, is this something I can trace with a multi-meter and some time or do I have to make the trek to the dealership and waste an entire day for them to figure it out?...not to mention give them my life savings for them to fix the problem...

On one of your last posts I found this:
"Ok..I replaced the fuse and thankfully, it didn't blow again. I was able to get it read and here are the codes:
P2122: Accelerator pedal position (APP) sensor 1 circuit low voltage. Less than .25 volts for less than 1 second .
P0030: (Oxygen Sensor) heater condition-check repair resource for sensor location identification. Failure in the circuit.
P0053: (Oxygen Sensor) same as above."
When you get the codes downloaded again, post them here and we'll see what people here can suggest.
