Still don't have mine off yet after two trips to the dealer. They're waiting for a part for the emissions system on mine. It shows a P0455 DTC meaning a vaccuum leak (large). So I'm waiting.... waiting.... waiting... for a call from the dealer.

The check engine light on Dory just lit up today.

Well, Dory will be getting 4 new injectors and returned to me tomorrow. Covered under warranty. Hopefully this will be the only fix needed for this problem.

Also gonna get a new remote as well. The SA said that "The transmitter is bad".

Have an appointment with the Dealer on Friday, hope it's nothing serious. I thought I got one of the good ones, now it's making me wonder about that.'

They're all good, it's just that if it's made by man it will surely break. That is why GM gives the warranty to you.

OK, just thought I would follow up with this in case anyone else might have this problem in the future.

To recap, the problem was the Engine Check Light came on Christmas Eve. Been back to the dealer for the third time last Monday (1/28) from a previous appmt. when part was ordered.

The code that was showing was P0455 - Emissions System Vacuum Leak (Large).

The part that was replaced was the Purge Solenoid Valve - P/N-12597567. It took three weeks to get this part, so I don't know if that means these things are in short supply due to demand or it is a part that rarely fails and is just not commonly stocked???

Kudos to the tech @ Apple Valley Chevrolet in Winchester, VA. who diagnosed this problem.

It's been 3 full days since repair, and no check light, so I'm going to say it's been fixed.

Now my HHR is PERFECT again!!!!!

Check Engine Light

Hello All,
I have experienced the check engine light twice in a week's time. The first time I took it back they said the computer had to be upgraded and reset. The second time it happened, I actually received a note on the dash "engine disabled" Now that was scary. When I took it in the second time, they said it was because the ignition wiring touched the exhaust and started to melt, causing a short. Now why would wiring be so close to potential touch anything hot. The service men mentioned they re-routed the wire to prevent this from happening again. Seems as if that was POOR designing. I had to pay $175 to get it repaired. I just hope others have this problem so I can get my money back:)

My check engine light came on and stayed on. Diagnosed at the dealer as a bad EGR Valve Solinoid. But be on your toes - there are two of them. I had to go back a second time because they replaced the wrong one.

It's been almost 3 full weeks now, haven't seen the check engine light come on, except of course when starting the engine as normal.

Still working GREAT!!!!

07 2.2l egr valve location

New HHR member.

I"m not totally stupid, but I don't see an EGR Valve on my stock 07 HHR 2.2l. Bought this thing after it had set for nearly a year and a half but with only 30,000 miles on it. Engine light on, changed out all of the injectors, got 5000 on it with a couple of uneventful road trips, but still get a rough idle and check light comes back on with the P0300 random miss code so I suspect the EGR is stuck open, but I don't see where the damn thing is.
