Engine cleaning/water

What happens when you drive in the rain? Just don't force water into connections and DO NOT try to wash the felt looking hoses or the firewall felt, anything that looks like felt is even less tolerant than felt. The air intake tube WILL disintegrate if you try to clean it!
My favorite is to spray any water soluble degreasing (orange,purple,green,409, etc.) on the parts that need to be cleaned, let sit for a few minutes, start engine then hose off, no pressure.
Remember, it's aluminum so cleaning is probably bad in the long run unless there is caked on stuff don't bother. Then fix whatever is leaking.

It is "Bio Degradable" and will not harm any engine compartment items.
I squeeze bottle spray it on just the parts I want to clean and let sit for 5-10 minutes.
Then I use a 1 to 1 1/2 inch utilty grade bristle brush to swish it around and watch the grease and grime come loose.
Then I immediatly hose off.
It's really a great product and safe to use.
