engine idles down too low and dies

new to the site so if this has been discussed before im sorry but my 2006 2.2L has started quitting on me when I come to a slow crawl or stop...it starts to surge at about 900RPM and then dies..most of the time it starts back fine and the sometimes it starts and dies immediately...then I have to touch the gas pedal to get it to start. im getting a small evap leak code but I don't know if that would effect it or not just looking for some help!

Try a thorough cleaning of the entire air intake system. Replace air filter, clean MAF with MAF cleaner and clean the throttle body plate with Throttle Body cleaner. Use search function above for precise directions on all of the above recommendations.

Welcome to the site!
Please remember to not move the tb butterfly it might damage the internal gears!
And disconnect the negative on the battery before you do cleaning!

All good advice above.

What is the Check Engine Light code (the alpha/numeric code, not a verbal description)?

How many miles on your 2.2L?

vacuum leak can do it! Probably the EVAP valve (the one under the hood) has gone bad.
