hope this is rite place to ask question. went to parts store to have code read. they said cam sensor. they looked it up. but said they would call me with price. it is a 2009 2.2 eco motor. how many cam sensor does it have. the engine seames to have a miss at idle. I know it probly needs plugs as it has 159,000 on it and I never changed them so I will do it all at once. thanks

Welcome to the site
We can try to help you but you need to post up the trouble code number.
We have seen part stores interpret code incorrectly before. For example there is a big difference between a cam sensor and a cam actuator.
The code will help us point you in the right direction.

to the forum!
Do you have a printout from the parts store, or do you remember the exact trouble code/codes?
We live and die here by trouble codes, sometimes what "they" say is wrong, and what the actual problem is, are miles apart.
As far as the plugs are concerned, it's way overdue, and use AC Delco 41-103 Iridium spark plugs. The Ecotec engines were designed around the Delco Iridium plugs, and as others here have found out, they don't like other plug brands.
You might as well grab your owners manual and do all of the 100,000 mile services, with the possible exception of your transmission if it's an automatic. Auto transmissions that haven't ever been serviced, will occasionally respond to a service by failing in short order. There are times when the old, gunky, stale fluid is the only thing keeping the transmission functional.
