Esc Active

I was driving today and the Esc Active came on twice. Scared the crap out of me. It's dry here. Anyone know what could cause this? BTW I hate the anti lock brakes on it.

Welcome to the site. I moved this post into its own thread so it will get more reads.

You stated that you don't like your antilock brakes. You should not feel anything with the antilock brakes unless your in a really hard stop or on ice.

Are you having a problems with the antilock brakes? If so that may be the problem with the ESC.

No my brakes are fine. I don't feel the anti lock unless it's snowing here or on ice. Which it's not today, so was very weird to have that happen. I'm just use to being able to brake myself. Not my car braking for me.

You may have a sensor starting to fail. Sadly you need to use a professional scan tool to read codes the abs/ESC system.

Hey tracyinhofer,

Welcome to the forum! There's a wealth of information in this community from members like Lucky and Oldblue that have helped countless other HHR owners. However, if you'd like to have this issue taken to your local Chevrolet dealership, I'd be happy to assist with that. Just PM us your VIN, mileage, preferred dealership and contact information and I'll share your situation with them. They would then reach out to you to schedule a service appointment.

Let us know if you have any additional questions as well. We're here to assist.
