I do note that there has been a flange/flex part on ebay that has the HO2 bung included on it.
Thanks for that info.

It was not really a problem. The welder just had to do a cut out to go around the HO2 bung. He was more pissed that I only brought him the pipe not the entire car. The one I got was from ZZP (I think), others may be different.

Actually, I was looking at Autozone the other day they have the entire pipe with the braided flex pipe now for not an outrageous price. Most after market Catalytic converters are illegal in California, for some reason.

Here's a tip for you - when you get a quote on the price at the parts department, just ask if they can do better on the price first quoted. Often they have some flexibility, and the results may surprise you. At the very least, it can't hurt to ask.

Defects in the exhaust flex pipe are covered under the 8 year/80k cat warranty, just FYI.

leaking exhaust pipe at flex pipe

having recently read about this my 07HHR with 84000 appears to have just started leaking, or should I say that I can now hear it. I'm guessing the dealer won't touch it under warranty if it's only good to 8/80000.

My question is: Anyone living in the FL, Tampa, Bradenton, Sarasota that might have had this problem and got it repaired by buying the short flex pipe part and taking your HHr to a muffler/ welder for the repair rather than replacing the whole exhaust system ?
would appreciate hearing from you

The EPA warranty varies by year, check with GM for your specific car.
