Not unusual that people poke around electronics in cars under the impression that they are dealing with analog systems not digital. My bet is somebody switched the "blower off" wire with the "AC request" wire; one is dk green and the other is lt green.
I have no idea what a capacitor has to do with anything, go back to Facebook and ask they know everything about capacitors. More likely somebody had a trailer hooked up wrong.
We already know there was a security system installed, have you corrected all of the wiring that was changed for it? Like flashing brake lights and other cut and spliced wires.
Have you looked in the Owner Manual for how the the interior lights are supposed to work?

B3950 02 and B3921 02 is short to ground
B3950 05 and B3950 05 are short to voltage.
not exactly what your scantool says.
Might have something to do with some yahoo trying to disable the DRL or hazards. The waterfall switches can be plugged into the wrong plugs.
