It's not so much the engine and trans that would cause worry(those have the 100 k mile warranty) but the cost of things like the hub and bearing assemblies and the expensive electronic pieces that will jump up and bite you.

I think I'm going to spring for the extended warranty. The fuel pump sounds like a can opener so that may be the next snake in the grass.

first... most people won t let it sit in the bank
second... the cost of the insurance ($1300) will barely cover the cost of a major repair...

if you drive allot or plan on keeping the car... get the insurance... see if there is a refund at the end of the extended warrenty if it is not used...
