Fan control unit

Check engine came on so I took it to Aamco for a free diagnostic and they said it was the fan control unit. Supposed to take it back on monday so I thought I would ask has anyone had this happen? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Well I didn't take it back because I thought I should check the fuses first...Bingo...blown fuse. Went to Kragen and picked one up, installed it, disconnected ground and the engine light went out....

Well I replaced the fuse and got rid of the engine light, but the fan itself is making an awful noise. Anyone have any ideas?

Bad bearing making a squealing or rumbling noise? Probably siezed up and blew the fuse? The fuse will probably blow again...

could be some leaves or twigs got down in there...maple tree buds are my bane around here.
Maple Leaf hockey fans, however, disappear around May...LOL

You nailed it. Didn't blow the fuse again yet but definitely the problem. I went to the dealer today and ordered a new motor assembly (95.00) which was cheaper than I expected. Anyway should have the part tomorrow to be installed next week when I get time. Thanks for the input everyone.
