Fan not working

I have a 2008 hhr ss and my fan is not coming on. I brought it to a shop to have it looked at and when they hooked it up to the computer they got the fan to come on. But when I'm driving it the fan will not turn on. It was getting up to 220 and the fan was not coming on. Is my fan assembly just bad or what? Hoping for some input from someone on here.

does the fan come on if you turn the AC on? Also I am pretty sure it is made to turn on automatically if you set the air to recirculate. Try those. If the only instance that it doesn't turn on is when it is reaching 217 or above than it might be the switch

The fan module on the fan shroud controls the speed of the fan. It has probably failed.

I don't know how they turned it on with a scantool. Maybe they set it to the highest speed.

Have you checked the coolant level, under the pressure cap and in the jar?

Some have reported the FCM is now available after-market on it's own
