My next door neighbor, who HAD an HHR, had this problem with his visor (probably with other "things" as well, that's why he used Viagra) and had to order a new visor. While waiting for the visor to be delivered, he tried a little shade tree repair and drilled a hole about 2 inches from the elbow that attach's to the roof and used an appropriate size bolt, nut and 2 washes to squeeze the frame slightly. This applied pressure to the rod the visor slides on and prevented the visor from falling. He said you need to be careful with the location and the tightening of the bolt because the frame under the cloth and padding material is plastic and it could BREAK (not BRAKE). Just a thought.

He no longer has the car, or I would try to get a picture.

I too have the droopy problem
i hide my news paper top sheets up there.

i took basically craft ( brown grocery bag)
pieces of paper , put that under the
clip part at the right end of the driver side visor.

Basically on mine it keeps the rod tight in
the holder/clip. i drive rough streets
and the visor stays put.

Hope 1 that made sense and 2 that it helps.
It just makes it a tighter fit and thus less
ability to move

Years ago we had a 49 Plymouth that did that. You would think in roughly 60+ years auto engineers could have resolved that problem. Guess not!

GM Part #25788231 Dark Cashmere HHR Driver side LEFT Sun Visor.

Received the replacement Sun Visor “genuine GM part”. Installed it, disappointed, it does not function as the original Sun Visor or the passenger side. It does not “snap up” (for lack of a better term) tight against the headliner as it is supposed to.

Passanger side still “snaps up” tight against the headliner. You new part “droops down” about a 1/2” to 3/4” down from the headliner. Disappointed

The only thing I've tried so far is a large binder clip. Kinda works.

Next step is to extend the visor the wrap some tape around the metal arm then push the visor back. The visor does extend a few inches when you unclip it from the center.

My HHR is at 89000 miles and the dealer said they would not fix it. They said trim is only covered till 36k miles. However they would sell me a new one for 150 bucks. SMH.

Lola is a 2011 HHR Dark Blue.

Who owns the car; You or GM? How long should they take care of your car?

Any chance that garage door openers or sunglasses lived there? I know that's why mine droops.

I'll bet you could get one via the internets for less. Try putting the part number mentioned above into the eBay search. (about $110).

The drivers side sun visor on our Neon was doing the same thing. I put one of those wide spring steel paper clips on it and it stays where I put it now. Not totally sure if it would work on a HHR or not.
