Frequent Headlight Failure
#12
Also purchased some Nokya's while waiting for my supplier to get the PIAA's in stock! The High Beam on the Driver Side went out two weeks after install ! Kind of makes me think that the HHR's finicky nature along with a bulb that has questionable quality control that either OEM's, PIAA's or an HID conversion are your safest bets !

Goose,
Yes, I have now one Silver Star in the right side and one Xtra Vision in the left side. I have had Silver Star bulbs in my 2004 S-10 since new and have replaced them one time. If and when the right Silver Star bulb fails, I will put an Xtra Vision in that one too. When my left side foglamp failed (at the same time as the left headlamp) I just put a stock replacement in that one. These things are a bear to change. I like the Silver Stars but I am leary now of using them in the HHR.

Well the HHR must look a bit funny tooling down the road as I think you can really see a diff between the SS and the Xtra...I just replaced both with Xtra when 1 SS blew out (again)
And yes...a royal pita to change but at least you don't need to disassemble the whole front end like I needed to do with a 89 GMC 1500 to change the headlight...holy moly!!
